With rapid chargers, it could be sped up. Besides, if you're careless not to have charged it, you'd have to wait for it to charge. I'd say, why go for a pertol/diesel/gas generator, when you could turn the new crank charge torch available for cheap in the market into a cellphone charger. See a video about it on videojug.com. On a similar note, one could build a bicycle on a stand with a dynamo to charge the same. Some kids could pedal the bicycle happily for Rs. 50 a day. Oops, that's child labor

Heh, neat. I probably wouldn't use such a service though. It would be boring standing there for half an hour waiting for my phone to charge.

Yeah, I have that crank/led torch charger, pretty handy. the LED's never seem to go out of power.
